Sophie Alize is a magnificently earthy dancer. She has an amazing ability to capture and mesmerise her audience. When she dances her spirit sings, her passion shines forth, her womanhood washes over her and her audience, her soul is at peace.

Sophie Alize fell in love with with Oriental dance, better known in Australia as 'Bellydance', in 2000 when she discovered it at a workshop at The Woodford Folk Festival in Queensland, Australia. Upon returning to Sydney, Sophie Alize took up classes and has never looked back.

Having danced her whole life Sophie Alize picked up the moves quickly and within no time she was performing at street fairs and festivals with The Fabulous Turkish Delights. The transition from festivals to restaurants and private functions came in 2004 whilst Sophie Alize was training with Skeik to Skeik in Perth Western Australia. Again it was upon her return to Sydney that saw her fully embrace this and Sophie Alize began her restaurant dancing career.

In 2006 Sophie Alize went to Egypt with Amera and fell in love with bellydancing all over again. She discovered a whole new passion for Arabic music and the art of dancing; the kind of passion you can only experience through watching bellydance whilst listening to a forty piece live Egyptian orchestra! This experience proved a turning point in Sophie Alize's life as her enthusiasm for the art of dancing enhanced ten fold and took her dancing to a whole new level.

Sophie Alize has been teaching bellydance since 2006 at bellydance schools across Sydney including Amera's Palace, Community College courses and festivals across NSW. She is currently teaching classes in Bondi.

Sophie Alize dances professionally as a solo act, as a duo act 'Sophie Alize and Jamil' and with 'Attar' professional bellydance troupe.

Sophie Alize is now one of Sydney's top performers. She can be spotted most Friday and Saturday nights at the following restaurants:
